Car Accidents
Being involved in a car, truck, tractor-trailer or other motor vehicle accident or collision, is one of the most traumatic and unfortunate situations in which you may find yourself. Whether you are the victim of a rear-end collision, an inter sectional, or T-bone accident, a rollover, or the victim of a hit-and-run or the victim of a drunk driver, car accidents are serious matters. For over 20 years, we have aggressively represented seriously injured victims of such automobile, motorcycle or truck accidents throughout the State of Florida.
Car accident cases also include, uninsured or under-insured claims, which an injured victim may bring against their own automobile insurance company when the person who caused the accident did not have any insurance, or not enough, insurance to adequately compensate our injured client. While Florida does not require uninsured motorist coverage, the law does require that insurance company’s offer uninsured motorist coverage to everyone who purchases a policy with bodily injury liability insurance. Thereafter, in order for the insurance company not to include uninsured motorist coverage on their policy, they are required to have their insured sign a written rejection of such coverage.
Car accident cases also include those injuries and collisions caused by defective products, or by the improper designs of automobiles and trucks, such as defective seatbelts, air bags, tires or gas tanks.
The injuries caused by these collisions may be serious and permanent. From neck and back injuries, broken bones, amputations, traumatic brain injuries (TBIs), scarring, and in the most unfortunate situations, paralysis, the damages and effects of serious motor vehicle collisions, may alter your and your family’s lives.
With regards to less serious injuries, Florida Law requires that in order to recover damages for your pain and suffering, from a car accident, that you sustain a permanent injury within a reasonable degree of medical probability. As such, it is imperative that accident victims seek immediate medical attention for their injuries, so their treating doctors, including orthopedic surgeons and neurologists may adequately document their medical records to prove the permanent affects that even “minor” injuries have on an accident victim’s life.
